The Agilent N5500A Phase Noise Test Set is a precision RF test set designed for phase-noise and noise measurements as part of the Agilent E5505A Phase Noise Measurement System. It provides the signal and reference interfaces, phase-detector outputs, analyzer outputs, noise input, monitoring, and VCO tuning functionality required for comprehensive phase-noise characterization.
The standard N5500A supports carrier frequencies from 50 kHz to 1.6 GHz with offset-frequency measurements extending from 0.01 Hz to 100 MHz. It accepts signal input levels up to +23 dBm and provides multiple analyzer outputs for connection to the appropriate baseband analyzer and measurement system.
