The Megger MPRT 8430 Protective Relay Test System is a high-power, flexible test set designed for testing and commissioning protective relays used in electrical utilities, power plants, substations, and industrial power systems. It can test a wide range of relay types, including electromechanical, solid-state, and modern microprocessor-based relays.
The MPRT 8430 combines programmable AC/DC voltage and current outputs with precise timing and measurement capabilities, allowing technicians to perform tests such as overcurrent, differential, distance/impedance, and other protection functions. Its modular output configuration allows the current channels to be combined for higher-current applications, providing up to 120 A when four current channels are paralleled.
The system can be operated through its TouchView Interface (TVI) for manual and semi-automatic testing, while AVTS software provides automated testing and test-result management. It also includes a built-in DC battery simulator for supplying common relay control voltages without requiring a separate DC source.
