Rotek Model 8100 Power and Energy Calibrator NIST Calibrated
The Rotek Model 8100 is a precision source of AC voltage, current and phase angle used in the calibration and test of a wide range of electrical metering instrumentation. It has been designed to be nothing less than the ultimate electrical power calibration standard in both accuracy and flexibility.
The 8100 delivers user-defined quantities of energy to meters under test, but, when used in conjunction with it, the MSB100 then supports power calibration to the 0.005% accuracy mentioned in the release notes. According to Rotek, the MSB100 works seamlessly with the calibrator.
A DSP-based box, the 8100 can deliver clean outputs into many types of loads, both resistive and reactive.
To do this, it uses a patented digital feedback loop to monitor and verify the accuracy of its voltage and current outputs. The DSP can handle voltage and current updating tasks simultaneously at rates exceeding 10 kHz.
The Model 8100 calibrator also packs hefty dual 50-W output amplifiers. These stages are sufficiently beefy to provide the levels of burden and compliance required to drive typical loads when testing high-power instruments such as AC mains wattmeters or watt-hour meters.
In use, you can derive voltages from as low as 1-V, to as much as 700-V, with current capability from 1-mA to as much as a whopping 55-A.
